How to Disable Footer Text Using CSS Code in WordPress

First of all, log in to your WordPress dashboard panel. Here you will see an “Appearance” option in the left of the dashboard.

.site-info { display: none; }

Click “Publish” button. And you’re all set!


There is a possibility that using this method may negative affect your search engine rankings of your website. Google and other search engines may penalize your website, if its algorithms detect that you are using the display:none code to deceive them.

If you notice a drop in your search rankings, you can remove this CSS code and can use an another method to hide the footer.

Select the “Footer” or “Theme Footer” button available in the right of the dashboard, which opens the footer.php file.

Insert a new line at the top of the code and then type “/” in that line. This is the beginning of a comment tag. Insert a new line below all of the ode and type “/” there. This is the end of the comment tag.

Click “Save Changes”.
